Featured on Studio 512: Sharing the Art of Calligraphy in Austin

Recently, I had the honor of being featured on Studio 512, a local segment highlighting creatives, small businesses, and experiences shaping the Austin community. I joined the team to share a glimpse into Calligraphy 101 and what I love most about teaching and live personalization.

During the segment, I walked through a few basic foundations of modern calligraphy. We practiced warm-up drills, focusing on light upstrokes and heavier downstrokes, then built lowercase letters and simple words. It was a reminder that calligraphy isn’t about perfection — it’s about rhythm, intention, and practice.

Teaching is a meaningful part of my work. Whether in a classroom, at a workshop, or during a live event, I love introducing people to an art form that slows you down and invites creativity back into everyday moments. As I shared on air, calligraphy is more than just writing — it’s an experience. From addressing holiday cards to personalizing gifts or hosting live engraving at events, hand lettering adds a level of thoughtfulness that people feel.

Beyond workshops, my work with Amanda Reid Designs includes live personalization for luxury brands, corporate events, and weddings, as well as mentoring artists and hosting The Luxury Calligrapher Retreat.
