Since beginning my practice in 2015, Calligraphy has always been more than just pretty letters for me. It's a form of self-care, expression, and a WHOLE VIBE! Let me elevate your experience to the next level with modern calligraphy and lettering!
About Amanda Reid Designs:
Amanda Reid is a modern calligrapher, workshop instructor and Doctor of Physical Therapy. She is the owner of Amanda Reid Designs, a modern calligraphy studio based in Austin, TX that specializes in providing calligraphy and engraving services for events and brands. Amanda also shares her passion for calligraphy with others by hosting fun, interactive workshops to teach aspiring letterers how to use brush pens and/or dip pen and ink.
Amanda is also the founder of Calligraphers of Color, an inclusive online community that provides resources for and highlights minority calligraphers and their businesses. Calligraphers of Color was founded in July 2019, after Amanda noticed the lack of diversity in the calligraphy industry. The Austin Calligrapher
MY STORY
I have been painting and creating for over 10 years, but fell in love with calligraphy and lettering in 2015 after taking a few classes to DIY my own wedding. It was a love at first sight kind of thing. I took multiple workshops while earning my Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree and it immediately became the perfect creative outlet and self-care experience. After graduating from physical therapy school, calligraphy continued to be a hobby that I continued to grow and practice in.
After years of practice and experimenting, I officially launched Amanda Reid Designs to provide modern calligraphy services in Austin, Texas and beyond. Since launching my business I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of clients, taught hundreds of students in my workshops (in-person and online), been featured in multiple blogs and publications, and have even collaborated with brands such as Erin Condren and United by Blue, to design products with my signature calligraphy style.
WORKSHOPS: I started teaching modern calligraphy and brush lettering workshops after getting countless requests from friends who wanted to experience the art of beautiful writing. As I’ve stated before, calligraphy is more than just pretty letters for me so I have always been drawn to finding unique venues and shops to host classes to truly give attendees a unique experience. I have hosted classes at local Austin hot spots such as the Kendra Scott Flagship store, Hanks, The Commune, and other unique venues. Due to COVID-19, I have been able to continue teaching virtually, which has allowed me to connect with students all over the world!
THE AUSTIN CALLIGRAPHER: I now provide modern calligraphy services for local Austin events and businesses. I work with event planners, brands, PR agencies, and local businesses for on-site calligraphy and engraving, window murals, menu boards, corporate workshops, personalized gifting, and more.

Do you do wedding calligraphy?
I DO: create custom, hand-lettered denim and leather jackets for brides/groom/wedding party and banners. I DO NOT: provide services exclusively for weddings such as wedding day signage, save the dates, invitations, envelope addressing, table numbers, etc.
Can I hire you to make a personalized gift for myself or a friend?
I love creating personalized, thoughtful gifts to add a special touch, memorial, or keepsake. However, due to demand, I am only able to accept a limited amount of custom orders with a minimum order of $150. Also be sure to check out my SHOP for prints, apparel, worksheets, and more!
Can I hire you to create a logo for me?
I do not create custom logos, stationery, or branding items.

Yes! Check out my workshops page for more info or to hire me to teach a workshop for your team members, staff, birthday, church group, bachelorette party or more. Minimum of 7 participants.
